Make Music Day

Make Music Day, held every June 21, is a global celebration of music, originating in France in 1982. This free, public event welcomes musicians of all levels and genres to perform in various outdoor spaces, turning cities into live music stages. This day is a tribute to musical diversity and creativity, inviting everyone to join in the universal joy of music.

This year, the NFHS and Make Music, Inc. have commissioned renowned composer Randall Standridge to write a brand-new work for Make Music Day – and we’re inviting your band to join in the world premiere on June 21! Just like Make Music Day itself, the piece is uniquely inclusive, with optional parts to accommodate any kind of school musician, and the music is absolutely FREE.
